I am pleased to have opened the After-Hours Clinic to be able both take of my patients as well as take care of walk-in patients from the community. I would like to introduce my After-Hours staff who come with impressive résumés and fascinating backgrounds. I am impressed with the compassion and thoroughness with which they treat my patients.

MariaMaria Minnaar Bailey grew up in Zimbabwe, Africa, the daughter of Swedish missionaries. She moved to the United States in the 1980’s. She received her medical training as a Physician Assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and moved from Texas to Joplin, Missouri in 2011, together with her husband, Martin. Maria has a multicultural background and speaks several languages, including Spanish. She has worked as a PA in many different settings: Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Clinical Research, and the E.R. Her interests include teaching African music, kayaking, and exploring nature. She is a member of Kufara Marimba Band, which plays lively Zimbabwean music at events and festivals all around the Joplin area. Maria previously worked at Freeman Hospital E.D. in Neosho, and currently works at the emergency departments of Mercy Hospital in Cassville and Aurora. She is delighted to return to Neosho as part of the new After Hours Clinic.

Brian
Brian Jerez was born in Anaheim, California and moved to Missouri at the age of six and has enjoyed calling Missouri his home ever since. He graduated from Carthage Senior High School in 2007 and continues to attend college at MSSU furthering his studies in medicine and biology. Brian has experience in family care, urgent care, emergency medicine as well as both rheumatology and neurology specialties. Born of Guatemalan parents, Brian is bilingual in both English and Spanish. He enjoys his time traveling, reading, listening to music, spending time with his family, and learning Swedish from Maria Bailey herself. He is enjoying all of the things Neosho has to offer, particularly the Flower Box Bakery, and is excited to serve the people of Neosho.
